24MB of RAM with or without an MMU?

Without an MMU (no paging), memory cannot be used as efficiently,
so 24MB on an architecture featuring an MMU is "more memory"
than on an architecture that lacks an MMU.

I would be very worried about memory as well.
I know what Linux feels like on an i386 box with 4MB RAM, and
dslinux with 4MB RAM was much worse. Having no paging nor swapping
makes a huge difference.
