Hmmm... I just tried a complete checkout of trunk and it worked for me.

$ svn co http://svn.dslinux.org/svn/trunk/ dslinux-trunk
... lots of output omitted ...

Does this error happen right away or part-way during checkout?

What does the command 'svn --version' print?

Are you behind a web proxy? If so, please try from another computer
that is not behind a proxy. Some proxies break Subversion operations.
